The Eastern Tube-Nosed Bats diet consists of nectar and fruit. They fly through the rainforest canopy rapidly when foraging at night, using their sense of smell and keen eyesight to find their favourite foods such as figs, guava and quadong.
They can often find themselves eating fruit close to the ground, resulting in them becoming easy prey for cats.
