Beccari's Freetail Microbats are found commonly roosting in large colonies in the eavespace of housing as they are attacted by the warmth and shelter.
Baby microbats often fall from the roosting site and are taken into care.
As adults, they will hunt for insects and can eat over 800 mosquitos a night. You can often spot them flying around street lamps, eating insects attracted to the light.
