Striped Possums are a very shy and elusive animal, smaller and leaner then the Brushtail Possums.
These possums are nocturnal, spending the night foraging for grubs and insects by using it's sharp teeth and long fingers to pull away bark and reach into the cracks in trees and fallen logs. They will often eat leaves and fruits or raid native bee nests for honey.
Striped Possums have a very notable smell, which more prominent in males.
